Our DDT x T1A Cold Air Intake was designed to draw a higher volume of cool air into the stock throttle bodies whilst eliminating air flow restrictions, resulting in improved throttle response and increased power and torque. With this intake installed, OEM bulky air filter boxes are replaced with our high flow filters and optionally wrapped (additional cost) tubing. This eliminates clutter within the engine bay whilst drawing cooler air from outside. A vast improvement over the stock intake system.
Power Gain & Identifying Intake Restrictions
The DDT x T1A intakes produce a realistic and repeatable increase in power of approximately 6-8kw (8-11hp) across a wide RPM range (3,300-7,100 rpm) on an already tuned car with 2.5 inch long tube intakes.
Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) can provide valuable information about the intake system's efficiency and potential restrictions. It’s common to see MAP values decrease as engine RPM or engine load increases, however this does indicate a potential air intake system restriction. This is because a restriction in the intake pipe, possibly due to a poorly designed intake system or inefficient path of air can cause a decrease in the pressure inside the intake manifold, resulting in lower MAP readings. Ultimately, sustaining as high as possible MAP values throughout the RPM range indicates minimal restriction on the intake side and an environment to produce more power. The larger inner diameter of these intakes, coupled with their smooth flow characteristics consistently augment MAP readings compared with aftermarket 2.5 inch intake systems.
Intake Design
A common complaint and design limitation with many aluminium intakes on the market is the uneven surface within the inlet tract. This is usually caused by pipes not being aligned correctly prior to welding, or welds bleeding through and creating ridges on the inside of the pipe. This leads to air separating off the pipe wall creating turbulent, rather than laminar flow. The DDT x T1A intakes use a flow optimised design with the fewest bends possible and smooth transitions within the pipe, whilst still ensuring fitment with right hand drive (RHD) vehicles. This achieves minimal air turbulence and pressure differentials within the inlet tract. A primary aim of the intake design was to create a pair of intakes with dimensionally mirrored piping between the left and right banks. From a tuning perspective this has produced a smoother MAF scaling, more accurate load calculation and OEM+ drivability, even when compared with current aftermarket 2.5 inch intakes.
The air filter placement with long-tube intakes on a 370z (90 degree angle, in front of the radiator support) makes a direct air path almost impossible. To overcome this, a velocity stack has been integrated into the piping (where the air filter attaches) in front of the radiator support to smooth airflow entering the inlet tract. The air filter/velocity stack combination was chosen to allow for the largest venturi effect possible without requiring cutting into the front aluminium crash bar.

Refunds via PayPal, STRIPE or other payment gateway will incur the payment gateways fee IF refund is initiated due to customer ordering incorrectly, mistakenly, or with in 10 days or cancel with in the website time frame given. PayPal no longer refund their 2.5% fee so the customer will be liable. If refund is initiated due to unable to fulfill the order or Tier 1 Auto Pty Ltd error, then no fee will be charged.
Once a product has been test fitted, installed or used it can no longer be returned. Special order items from overseas or special orders will be accepted for return but a 20% restocking fee will be applied. Not all items are subject to our standard returns policy. Items that are special order are subject to a return policy outline between Tier 1 Auto Pty Ltd and the customer at time of purchase.
Customers have 14 days from the day they receive their order to lodge a "Return Item Request" with Tier 1 Auto Pty Ltd, and no more than 7 days from the time approval has been given.
Once a "Return Item Request" has been approved by Tier 1 Auto Pty Ltd customers must arrange for their item(s) to be returned. Customers may be supplied with a "Product Return Form" which must be included with the item(s).
RETURNS POLICY
All returns must be accompanied with the "Request A Return" form, if requested, for the item(s) they wish to return. All return shipping costs are to be paid by the customers. However, in the event that an incorrect item has been sent by Tier 1 Auto Pty Ltd and associated distribution partners, Tier 1 Auto Pty Ltd will cover return shipping costs.

Customers are more than welcome to return items in person providing that the "Return Item Request" has already been approved by Tier 1 Auto Pty Ltd. All returns must be in original package unless previously discussed. Packaging that is damaged and in an "unsellable" condition will incur a 20% repackaging fee or may be returned to the customer without refund.
